Dr. Han Donker
Dr. Han Donker is Chair of the School of Business at the University of Northern British Columbia. He has a Ph.D. in Finance and Accounting from CentER at the University of Tilburg in the Netherlands and a MSc in Economics from the Free University of Amsterdam.
Dr. Han Donker is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a member of the Royal Netherlands Institute of Registered Accountants. He joined the School of Business at the University of Northern British Columbia in 2005. Prior to that he held various positions at KPN Telecom, the largest telecommunication company in the Netherlands, before he accepted a position at Erasmus University Rotterdam where he initiated and launched new Master’s degree in financial law.
Han is the Editor-in Chief of the
International Journal of Corporate Governance, published by Inderscience (United Kingdom). He studies the relationship between shareholder activism and the market for corporate control. His current research focuses on corporate governance structures and corporate restructuring. His research is funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), which is the federal agency that promotes and supports university-based research and training in humanities and social sciences in Canada. He has published many articles on corporate governance and corporate restructuring in the leading journals on corporate governance and ethics, such as the Journal of Business Ethics, Corporate Governance: An International Review, International Journal of Corporate Governance, International Journal of Banking and Finance, Applied Financial Economics and the Journal of Developmental Entrepreneurship. He has also served on many editorial boards as a member or as reviewer, such as: Journal of Business Ethics, International Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Performance Evaluation, Corporate Governance: An International Review, Journal of Academic Ethics, Journal of Information and Communication & Ethics in Society.
