Ch’nook is committed to establishing a strong foundation for collaboration, building relationships and sharing knowledge. To this end, Ch’nook led the development and signing of the Ch’nook Business Education Accord and has joined with four Ch’nook Regional Partners to extend our provincial presence and success into a stronger regional presence that is closer to First Nations communities and more responsive to their needs.
Ch’nook Business Education Accord
On August 2009 British Columbia’s 25 universities and colleges signed the Ch’nook Business Education Accord thereby agreeing to work together to increase Aboriginal participation in business education. The Ch’nook Business Education Accord actively builds institutional commitment at the senior management level and creates linkages between the business schools and Aboriginal student relations functions in each post-secondary institution it works with. As a consequence of this, Ch’nook has been recognized as a leader in Canada for identifying and promoting Aboriginal post-secondary business education as a priority for British Columbia’s post-secondary institutions.
Ch’nook Regional Partners
Ch’nook has signed formal agreements with Regional Partners to enhance our activities and to build out increased participation at the regional level, through the different support components identified for the Ch’nook Indigenous Business Network. We have signed agreements: University of British Columbia, University of Northern BC, Thompson Rivers University and Vancouver Island University.

Our academic partnerships have enabled Ch’nook to create vibrant linkages between Aboriginal business students studying in institutions across British Columbia. We have provided students with opportunities to meet and develop professional networks in their fields of interest and to reach out to First Nation communities across the province to build awareness about the values related to business education individuals and communities.
